I bought this little nightstand at a consignment shop a couple weeks ago for only $10!! I was out looking for inexpensive pieces that I could fix up and take to school with me. I thought this cute little table would be perfect for my first apartment! I don’t have a video to upload but this project was so easy and fun that you really don’t need a step by step tutorial if you know the basics of painting. I found a piece in an upscale consignment shop that I loved but it was $150 so when I found this piece I was determined to recreate the look. The first thing I did was sand the whole piece down a little so the paint would stick better. I sanded the top using a power sander because I wanted to stain it. I then painted the whole piece excluding the top. On the top I dry brushed some paint just to add some character. After the piece was dry I gave it another sanding so the wood would show through underneath giving it a rough and distressed look. I then stained the top of the table and set it to dry. This project didn’t take me long to do, I started it in the late afternoon and finished that evening. I absolutely love the end product and can’t wait to take it to school. I even think it looks better than the one I saw for $150, and no one will know that it’s not a super expensive piece!
