- Usually 1/2” thick.
- Wood shakes are similar, but have a rougher texture. They are usually 1/2” or 3/4” thick.
- More difficult to install than asphalt shingles.
- Features may include a fire-retardant coating, which only reduces, not eliminates, its flammability.
