Refinish A Farmhouse Coffee Table for A Whole New Life
Posted by: Katrina Hess
I think of coffee tables as the evil necessity. Most are big and bulky. Clunky eyesores, really. But where else would I flop my feet at night or put my dinner plate and glass of wine—for as much as I wish I didn’t eat in front of the TV, it’s my guilty pleasure. And a coffee table makes this treasured habit possible.
So, I began a search for the best coffee table to fit in the nook of my small, slip-covered sectional. Something compact. Something airy. Something with character. The perfect solutions I found were beautiful but outrageously priced. That’s when I decided to make my own!
I bought a $100 farmhouse table from an antique mall and went to town.
I first measured the seat height of my couch.
Then I used my trusty handsaw to cut the table legs to match the height of the couch seat.
Lastly, I protected the flaking lead paint with a clear, water-based matte sealant. This also made the table safe for pets and children. My nephew has the green light to crawl all over it!
You don’t have to use an antique. Have an old dining table left over from your college days? Or a local Goodwill stocked full of tables just waiting for some paint and a handsaw? Create your own and see how much money you’ll save –and how many compliments you’ll get! Just remember: Using an airy coffee table allows the rug beneath to show so be sure to take advantage by using a rug with a great pattern or texture!
This is My most favorite Board game and every time i want to play and share this risk game online online with all of My friends. Thanks to allow me!
