A Girl’s Bright and Colorful Good Morning Bathroom

Heather Pressley Gibson Girls Bathroom - Shower Curtain

As a mom of 3 girls I love finding ways to decorate their spaces that fit their personalities. When we moved, our girls were able to have their own bathroom, so I decided to decorate it as such. My girls range in age from 3 to 8 so I needed a theme that would fit our youngest & our oldest. I also wanted to choose a theme that would grow with them. I didn’t want to redecorate every year. I looked around online at all the cute ideas & decided to go with a “Little MissMatched” type room.

I really loved the idea of brightly colored polka dots & stripes together. I decided to stick with the light yellow paint that was already on the walls when we moved in. It kept the bathroom light & really went well with the white sink, toilet & tub/shower plus with all the other bold colors and wanted the walls to not be a focal point. I found a “Little MissMatched” soap pump, toothbrush holder & striped fabric shower curtain on eBay and my idea was beginning to take shape.

We already had some really cute, colored, polka dot tiny tin buckets for all their hair stuff and other items to put in their bathroom. I really wanted a polka dot shower curtain to go behind the striped one, but I couldn’t find one I really liked. About 3 months later I walked into a store and it was like a beam of light was shining on the polka dot shower curtain of my dreams. Now their bathroom was complete…not really.

It needed something more. I decided on an aqua colored rug for their floor and bath towels to hang on the wall in their favorite colors (pink, purple & yellow). I also purchased bright colored hand towels (lime green) and washcloths (orange & teal). In the back of my mind I wanted to put a picture or something on the wall, but I wanted it to be meaningful. I wanted it to be something that would inspire my girls as they grew up. I saw a verse on Pinterest that I loved and I searched around and found the version I liked best for my girls. It was 1 Peter 3:3-4 “ It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you—the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear and it is worth very much to God.”

Now how to put that on the wall… I decided to stencil it. We have a friend who owns a print shop & he did a vinyl sticky stencil for us of the verse. There were a few challenges, but not many. I found that if you have too much paint on your foam brush it can seep past the stencil, so make sure you have almost no paint on it…better to do multiple layers. Another challenge was peeling off the stencil without taking off part of the painted letters. We were just really careful after our first casualty.

I’m really happy with how it turned out and have used these stencils in other areas of our house as well. My girls were thrilled with how their bathroom turned out. They love it…I can’t promise that means they keep it clean, but it’s really cute and fits their personalities.

I understand you and I know how you’re feeling right now, believe me, it’s not just about you. Many girls don’t really like to meet on the street themselves and therefore they say no. I started thinking about this weblink https://www.sofiadate.com/positive-dating/ and found an article on the Internet that tells you how to behave with a girl, how to communicate and what to do.
