Mobilier a Jardiniere is a manufacturer of creative outdoor furniture. One line combines planters with benches and chairs, with the planters built into the backs and arms of the seats.
One bench features a low oval back that houses the planter. Filled with privet, boxwood, or other shrub that takes to tight pruning, the bench and planter take on the appearance of a well-maintained lawn.

Pooktre Chair by Peter Cook
Peter Cook’s Pooktre Chair is both a chair and a tree. With careful shaping over a number of years, the tree has a seat with a built-in shape.
What’s pooktre? Pooktre is the process Cook uses to shape trees into recognizable objects. He starts with a design and patiently transforms the living tree into that image.
If you want to buy a Pooktre chair, Cook will dig one up and plant it in your garden.

Living Chair by Bridgman
Furniture manufacturer and designer Bridgman wants to have fun with furniture and show you how you can do the same. You don’t need to be a master carpenter or a green-thumb gardener to create a living chair like this one.
Start with a rattan chair that has outlived its useful life and follow Bridgman’s careful step-by-step instructions. Your chair may not look exactly like Bridgman’s, but that’s the fun of creating your own furniture.
