Smoked Salmon Made a Seafood Lover Out of Me - Feature

This Smoked Salmon Made Me a Seafood Lover!

I have never been a big fan of seafood. When I was eight years old, my family went fishing with live shrimp and I have steered clear ever since. But I am trying to expand my culinary tastes and thought I would give it a try. I now know what all the fuss is all about. This smoked salmon was delicious! After this initial effort I can see myself searching for more salmon recipes I can enjoy at home as well.

What you will need

I was able to pick up everything I needed, minus the salmon steak, at my local hardware store, Blackhawk Hardware in Charlotte, NC. One stop shopping; I love this place!

Let’s get started.

  • Soak the salmon steak in lemon pepper marinade for at least 2 hours.

  • Soak the cedar plank in water for 15 minutes. You will need to weigh it down with something. I used a pot full of water.
  • Let’s fire up the grill to about 350 or 400 degrees.  Place the salmon steak onto the pre-soaked cedar grilling plank and put it directly on the grill grate.

  • Smoke the salmon steak for about 15 minutes, until you reach an internal temperature of 130 degrees. When you see white in the center, a delicious flaky consistency has been achieved. I presented the salmon on the plank and paired this with a tasty rice pilaf.  Be ready for the oohs and aahs!

Let us know how yours turned out.  We love to hear from you.

This is a great idea! I love healthy and tasty food. And not so long ago I began to take care of my mental health with the help of cannabis distillate. I found a great online store https://westcoastbud.io/products/concentrates/distillate/ and now you can buy high-quality cannabis distillate here with very cool discounts. This product helps fight stress and you can use it both in its pure form and for preparing your dishes.
