All-In-One Dog Leash and Treat Holder

Dog Treat Holder

Every morning, it’s routine to dig through a basket of dog toys, treats and potty bags to find the tangled up leashes I need to walk the dogs. I keep the basket in the hallway by the front door, which has almost no natural light, making it hard for me to find what I need without being noisy or turning the light on and waking up my roommate.

I decided this problem could be solved with a couple hours, a piece of wood, some hooks and a ball jar. I would make a simple leash and treat holder to hang on the wall next to the front door to make it much easier to find leashes and treats.

Here is a list of what you need:

  • 1 wood board (I have two dogs, so I needed two hooks and therefore a longer board)
  • 1 can of wood stain or paint
  • brush or rag to apply stain/paint
  • 1 ball jar
  • 1 tube fastener
  • 2 hooks
  • screws
  • 2 picture hanging mounts

Fuseks

I walked over to Fusek’s True Value, which is just three blocks from my apartment here in Indianapolis, and I found all of these supplies, even the ball jar! They were even having a “happy hour,” so I got 10% off my purchase!

I started my project by laying down some paper bags and extra craft paper on my dining room table to avoid getting stain on anything.

stain

I lightly shook my can of ebony stain for a couple minutes and used a screwdriver to open it. I took a cheap paintbrush and covered the board with stain. After the initial coat dried, I painted one more coat on the front because I wanted the wood to be really dark.

picture mounts

After the board dried, I turned it to the backside and added picture hanging mounts. I would suggest doing this before you install the hooks and ball jar because it’s much easier to lay the board flat!

After adding the picture mounts, I turned the board to the front side and guestimated where I wanted my hooks and treat jar to go. After I had a pretty good idea, I made sure they were level with each other and screwed them all in place.

*The tube fastener can be tricky to get secured to the board, but if you have a power screwdriver, it will make things easier. I didn’t have one, so I hammered a nail through the fastener and board first, and then removed the nail and replaced it with a screw.

with jar

After I had all the hardware in place, I put the ball jar in the fastener and used a screwdriver to tighten the clasp on the fastener until the jar was secure.

Finally, I hung the piece in the hallway just like any other picture. I hammered two nails into the wall in line with my picture mounts. That’s it!

I finished it up by adding my leashes and treats. Now, it’s much easier for me to grab leashes for my walks around town with the dogs. And they love that treats are readily available upon our return!

Don’t you think you need to go back to the doctor and tell him that his medications are ineffective*? I believe this should be the first on your list. Then you can think of other ways of healing. For example, my sister read this legal thc products and started using CBD ointment to relieve muscle pain. and she said that it works very well for her.
