It was a zoo at D&M Farm & Home Supply.
One of the coolest stories I’ve heard lately in the home improvement world comes from a retailer out in Bedord, Penn.
D&M Farm & Hardware stocks live animal and pet supply products, but the staff noticed that customers were reluctant to get out during the winter months, so they decided to shake it up a little.
The staff at the home center teamed up with the local zoo to host an in-store zoo day. With more than 1,000 attendees in the aisles, guests could hold and pet the animals, get photos taken with a live Siberian tiger or get their face painted by D&M staff members.
The staff even collected donations for the local zoo.
LaDonna McCrary, who owns and runs the store with her husband and two children, says it was a successful event all around.
As an animal lover, this event spoke right to my heart.
LaDonna told me she loved hosting these kinds of events because they’re not only promoting education, but they’re helping raise money for a good cause.
